
ABC Violation
It is illegal to transport liquor in a moving vehicle in South Carolina if the cap or seal on the container has been opened or broken, except in the luggage compartment or cargo area. If you are convicted of violating the ABC Law, the penalties are:
First Offense
- a fine of not more than $100 or
- 30 days in jail, and
- Driver’s license suspended for 6 months
Second Offense
- a fine of not more than $100 or
- 30 days in jail, and
- Driver’s license suspended for 1 year
Third or Subsequent Offense
- a fine of not more than $100 or
- 30 days in jail, and
- Driver’s license suspended for 2 years
