Lowell Bernstein graduated from of the University of Virginia, with Distinction, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1990, and graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1993. While in law school, he served on both the South Carolina Law Review and The South Carolina Environmental Law Journal.
After graduating from law school, he worked as a law clerk to the Honorable Karen J. Williams, of the United States Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit. He also served as Assistant Solicitor, Lexington County Solicitor’s Office. He then began practicing law with his father, Isadore S. Bernstein and sister, Beth E. Bernstein, and formed what is now known as Bernstein and Bernstein, LLC.
Lowell primarily represents plaintiffs in personal injury and wrongful death cases involving products liability, medical negligence, motor vehicle and boat accidents, premises liability, and uninsured motorist claims. He represents claimants in job-related injuries and defendants in criminal cases.
Over the years, the firm has represented plaintiff in several cases with jury verdicts and/or settlements in excess of $1 million.
He has been a member of the South Carolina Bar since 1993, the Bar of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the United States District Court for South Carolina since 1994. He is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, South Carolina Bar Association, and Richland County Bar Association.
